Go camping! The British Columbia Parks camping reservation service opened today, so head on over there and make a reservation for this summer. May I suggest Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park on Vancouver Island near Parksville for sandcastles and s’mores? It’s a sweet spot for a summer family campout, but reservations are a must.
Visit Pike Place Market. The tulips have arrived, but the crowds of tourists have not. Now’s your chance to stock up on Mexican groceries at El Mercado Latino, get the atlas for your summer road trip at Metsker Maps, and get your fortune told at Tenzing Momo.
Buy your tickets for some upcoming festivals that will probably sell out. Taste Washington is March 23 and 24, and the Washington Cask Beer Festival is March 30.
Take a spring hike with your dog. Washington Trails Association has assembled a good list of dog-friendly trails where your pooch will be welcome and happy with the terrain. Oh, and please keep your dog leashed on these trails.
Get in the snow! Spring is upon us, but it’s not too late to get in some fun in the snow. It’s the last week for sledding and snow play at Mount Rainier – SoundsFunMom.com has the details plus some other suggestions for playing in the snow. In Oregon, VisitBend.com shares suggestions for snowshoeing in Central Oregon.
And with that, we’re off to Lake Wenatchee for some fun in the snow ourselves at Beaver Valley Lodge. Have a great weekend!
