Pearrygin Lake State Park is a beautiful camping park ringed by Cascade peaks. It comprises over 1,200 acres (that includes the lake) with 11,000 feet of waterfront.
Why We Love It: The park’s landscape is open with just a smattering of trees, mainly willows and ash, so campers won’t get much privacy but they will get in some fishing, swimming, hiking and boating if that’s what they came for. Hikers will enjoy the Rex Derr trail, a 3.1-mile loop through the east campground and along the shrub steppe hillside above Pearrygin Lake.
Pearrygin Lake State Park is especially lovely in autumn when the crowds are gone and the deciduous trees turn lovely hues of orange, yellow and red. Winter months bring opportunities for cross-county skiing and ice fishing.
Hike the 3.1-mile Rex Derr Trail, a multi-seasonal trail that begins at the park’s east boat launch, traverses a hillside up through shrub-steppe habitat, passes the old Graves Homestead and then winds its way back through the east campground.
