The Colville National Forest and Kettle Mountain Range offer secluded hiking, wildlife watching and many other types of recreation in this remote corner of Washington state. The region comprises Ferry, Stevens and Pend Orielle counties.
Our friends have a cabin near Curlew, and each time we visit this corner of the state we are amazed by our wildlife encounters, from deer to owls to free-roaming cattle that block hiking trails.
