Northwest TripFinder is a travel  and recreation website that comprises travel guides, travel-related articles and trip reports written and edited by Lauren Braden.

Display Advertising

This website accepts a limited amount of paid display advertising. These ads look exactly like what they are – ads. Some of these ads are hosted by Google Adsense, and the ads that appear are not under our control and are probably tailored to your own search history or interests. Northwest TripFinder receives a very small amount of money if you click on those Google ads. When we sell ad space directly, we choose advertisers carefully based on the products and services they offer, opting for advertisers that we think our readers would be interested in (specifically, local travel and recreation in the Pacific Northwest). We reserve the right to reject potential advertisers for any reason, and we have declined advertising partnerships with brands that we feel are not a good fit for our values of sustainability in travel and tourism.

Sponsored Posts

We may on occasion run sponsored posts for travel-related businesses. These are always clearly identified as sponsored at both the top and bottom of the post. We only partner with sponsors that we believe are a good fit for our readers. If they’re not a good fit, we don’t accept them.

Affiliate Links

Some of the links on this website are affiliate links. An affiliate link works in the same way as sales commission – if you end up buying something through an affiliate link on my website, then Northwest TripFinder gets a very small slice of commission. It does not cost you a penny more to purchase something through an affiliate link. An example of affiliate links on this website is my post on which car camping equipment I recommend. When I link to stuff on Amazon.com, it is often an affiliate link. Again this means I get a small percentage if you choose to buy something.

Disclosure of Media Rates

When we receive free or reduced rates on accommodations, this is clearly disclosed in our content about those accommodations. If it is not disclosed, we paid full price. My acceptance of reduced and complimentary products or services does not influence the content, topics, or posts on this website. I seek out the accommodations I want to stay in first, then ask for a media rate if appropriate (many smaller accommodations like B&Bs are simply not able to offer discounts to travel writers).

Photography

Most of the photography on this website is taken by me or my husband, and like all content on nwtripfinder.com it is copyright, all rights reserved. I do not include any photo credit on photos taken by us.

If we use photos from a guest blogger, tourism bureau or from Flickr creative commons, these photos are credited with the photographer in a caption, on top of the photo, and/or at the bottom of the post. Images on this blog are copyright to its respectful owners. If there is an image appearing on this blog that belongs to you and do not wish for it appear on this site, please email me with a link to said image and it will be promptly removed.

A few more things…

Please note, I will not write or alter the content of this blog to please sponsors. I write about and link to businesses and websites that I believe to be useful. I am not compensated to provide an opinion on accommodations, services, products or any other topic.

The views and opinions expressed by me, Lauren Braden, on this website are mine and mine alone. Likewise, any businesses who pay for advertising on this website do not endorse my views or opinions.

This website contains some recommendations made by other people. For an example, see this article on Seattle’s Best Brunch. These are from blogs I read and enjoy myself. These bloggers are invited by me to submit their recommendations. The blogger recommendations that appear on this website by bloggers other than myself are the recommendation and opinion of that individual blogger, not me. These are clearly marked as blogger recommendations. I do not endorse these recommendations. These bloggers are not paid by me to offer these recommendations, nor am I paid by them to display them and link to them, nor is there any other form of reciprocity expected or received to or from these bloggers.
